Well, it was Math TAKS day for 5th graders. It is such a long, boring, frustrating day. Our students aren't allowed to bring anything with them except their pencils. They are not allowed to have a book, draw, or do anything accept keep going over the test until at least lunch (which was at 12:10p.m.). As teachers the only thing we are allowed to do is to walk up and down the aisles or stand at the front of the room and stare at the children. Thankfully I was allowed to sit on a desk at the front of the room in between my walks. When students finish at 10:20 or 10:30 a.m. and have nothing to do it's really trying. The whole feeling leaves me with the feeling of clostophobia (sp?) because of having that trapped feeling.

Okay, all of the events from the weekend up through Wednesday finally caught up with me. I went home in tears hurting. I took pain medicine and went to bed at 7:15p.m. I then got up on Thursday morning. Dustin wanted me to take Friday off but I just tried to take it easy Thursday and Friday at school.

I gave the students a packet over their Social Studies chapter. I told them they could work together in their table groups. When they finished they came to me and we checked it and I put the grade in the gradebook. I stayed in my chair all day.

WOW! Wireless keyboards and a wireless mouse are such an awesome thing. I was able to sit at my desk today and run the laptop in the middle of the room that is hooked to the projector. I was able to show the students great sites regarding the Civil War. Another great day staying in my seat.

Dustin and I went for a walk around the block. That was the first time around since my surgery. We then made a trip to Walmart. I spent the rest of the day sitting on the back porch enjoying the beautiful day, reading, napping, talking on the phone, etc...

Slept in, watched church on TV, and then later in the afternoon we went to my brother-in-law's and sister-in-law's house for hotdogs. It was great to see the family. Seems strange that even with family living close by we still don't see or talk to each other for sometimes a month. We let life get too busy.
